Well my old TEAC CRT TV was giving up the ghost. It took about 20 attempts to get it turned on and then you couldn’t change channels for at least 2 minutes or it would shut down again. Clearly it was time for a new TV. I decided that due to space I have and the distance I sit I couldn’t go bigger than a 32″. Unfortunately most brands only have their better technology in 40″ and above. This is a real pity as I am very fussy about picture quality, having sold TVs for over 15 years, I was quite happy to pay for a decent picture. read full article here

Playstation 3
Well after much contemplation I finally got myself a PlayStation 3. I had been tossing up between it and an Xbox 360, and finally decided the PlayStation 3
was better suited to my needs. The built in Blu-ray player was a bonus, and for my needs really just for the advantages it brings gaming(larger capacity equaling bigger more detailed games), not as a movie player. I’m not sold on the push to HD(high definition) as I have an awesome Standard definition widescreen TV(a german Loewe) that I plan to have for many more years, and I don’t see a major difference between excellent SD and average HD. I can’t afford good HD and even then, its a subtle improvement at best. read full article here

PANASONIC SD-1
I have had this camcorder for over a year now and absolutely love it. It uses an SD card to record to which is amazing technology and in my opinion the future of camcorders. Some of the benefits include rapid start up(2 seconds for this camcorder), reduction of moving parts, as its solid state. Smaller size of Camcorder due to SD cards reduced size and lack of motors etc to spin discs or tape. Solid state means camcorders aren’t effected by high g-forces and are incredibly reliable. SD card storage means I can slip card straight into laptop, so no messing with cables and transfering footage is drag and drop. read full article here

I have just upgraded to this latest model Asus Centrino 2 notebook. I was using a 18 month old 2ghz Asus Laptop that was incredibly reliable. I do most of my daily net tasks(like writing this blog) on my Acer netbook but use my laptop for Music production, Video editing and now some gaming. read full article here

OK that’s obviously a big call, but I am a huge fan of great driving clips, and have usually been disappointed with what others rate as great driving clips. read full article here

Logitech Harmony 880 remote
I looooove my Harmony remote. I have many gadgets and this web programmable remote makes it a piece of cake to drive it all.
To set it up, you log into logitechs site and list what products you use and how they are connected. They give you a card to write it all down on, that makes the set up a bit easier, rather than running back and forth from your amp to the PC. read full article here
