My Music Making Setup

I have set myself up with a really cool music production setup.

I have PC based system, it consists of an Asus laptop(N50VC), but thats plugged into an Asus 20″  monitor and Logitech Dinovo edge keyboard, and MX revolution mouse. It feels like a desktop and has more than enough grunt for my needs.

I have an outboard sound card, connected via firewire(IEEE1394). Its an M Audio firewire-410. I needed this, as using the onboard sound processing meant I had way too much latency(delay). This delay meant I couldn’t play in time with music I was creating. I also have a M Audio axiom 25 USB midi keyboard, and a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar.

I have a mixer and a Denon DN-S3000 CDJ unit, that lets my scratch on CDs. I use a Sony MZ-RH1 mini disc unit to record  sound when I’m out and about. I also have a technics SL-1200 turntable for cutting up some old skool wax

I’ll do individual reviews of my gear as I get the time.

at the moment I mainly use Ableton Live 8 suite, Protools Vocal studio, and Music maker.

I don’t have a number 1 (with a bullet) yet, but am hoping its in the pipeline 🙂

peace
